हैदराबाद से एआईएमआईएम सांसद असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने शनिवार को कई सारे ट्वीट पर केंद्रीय कैबिनेट के प्रस्ताव पर अपना विरोध जताया। ओवैसी ने ट्वीट करते हुए लिखा कि महिलाओं के लिए शादी की न्यूनतम उम्र को 18 से बढ़ाकर 21 साल करने के प्रस्ताव को मोदी सरकार ने मंजूरी दे दी है। ऐसी पितृसत्तात्मकता मोदी सरकार की नीति बन चुकी है और इससे बेहतर करने की उम्मीद भी हम सरकार से करना छोड़ चुके हैं।

बता दें कि केंद्रीय कैबिनेट के द्वारा लड़की की शादी की उम्र 21 वर्ष करने वाले प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दिए जाने के बाद विवाह निषेध अधिनियम 2006 में भी संशोधन किया जाएगा। साथ ही स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट और पर्सनल लॉ जैसे नियमों में भी बदलाव किया जाएगा। गौरतलब है कि साल 2020 में जया जेटली की अध्यक्षता में एक टास्क फ़ोर्स का गठन किया गया था। यह टास्क फ़ोर्स मां बनने की उम्र से संबंधित समस्याएं, मातृ मृत्यु दर को कम करने, पोषण स्तर जैसे मुद्दों की जांच के लिए बनाया गया था। इसी टास्क फ़ोर्स ने सुझाव दिया कि पहले बच्चे को जन्म देते समय महिला की उम्र 21 वर्ष होनी चाहिए।
